Nothing worthwhile starts in a vacuum. It’s certainly true of Every Child Home.
Every Child Home was formerly known as Orphan Justice Center, founded by visionaries Derek and Renee Loux. Veterans of multiple international adoptions, Derek and Renee built a team that cared for foster children and foster families as well as challenged the church to embody the religion described in James 1:27 as “pure and undefiled” - caring for orphans and widows in their affliction - in a context of prayer.
In 2009, Derek went to be with the Lord after a car accident as he traveled home from a ministry event.
Renee continued to lead the Orphan Justice Center as it pioneered work in wrap around care and ministering to children in residential units for many years, until turning over leadership to Randy & Kelsey Bohlender and Becky Jackman, longtime friends who also have extensive adoption and ministry experience.
In late 2022, Orphan Justice Center became Every Child Home, focusing on serving children in the foster system who have no opportunity for reunification with their biological families.
